Frequently asked questions
Do I need to have read the whole book before the first session?
Not at all. Each session covers specific chapters, and you'll receive the discussion topic and suggested reading on the Monday before. Many members find they only need 30–45 minutes of reading to feel prepared. And if life gets in the way, you can still join and learn through the conversation — that's the whole point of doing this together.
What kind of books do you read? Is it all about Bitcoin?
We read across the full spectrum of money, investing, and financial technology — not just crypto. Past picks have included books on behavioural finance, the history of money, blockchain fundamentals, and smart investing principles. The goal is to build a well-rounded understanding of how the financial world is changing, so you can make better decisions with confidence.
I'm a complete beginner — will I be able to keep up?
Absolutely. The Book Club is designed for people who are curious but don't have a finance background. We break everything down in plain English, and no question is too basic. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by crypto jargon or investing terminology, this is exactly where you need to be. Most of our members started in the same place.
What happens after the free month?
You'll move seamlessly into a £9/month plan. There's no contract and you can cancel anytime — we want you here because you're getting value, not because you're locked in. Most members stay because the monthly book picks and live discussions give them something no YouTube video or podcast can: structured learning with real conversation.
Can I join mid-month?
Yes — a new book starts each month, so there's always a natural entry point. If you join partway through a current book, you're welcome to catch up or simply start fresh with the next one. Either way, you'll have full access to the community and all previous reading plans from the moment you sign up.
How is this different from just reading crypto books on my own?
Reading alone is great — but it's easy to lose momentum or misunderstand key concepts without anyone to talk it through with. The Book Club gives you structure (a reading plan and discussion prompts), accountability (a regular session in your diary), and perspective (hearing how other women are interpreting the same ideas). It's the difference between passively reading and actively learning.
What if I can't make a live session?
Life happens — and we understand. Sessions are designed to be valuable even if you miss one. You'll still receive the reading plan, discussion topics, and reflection notes so you can follow along in your own time. The community is there between sessions too.
Is this suitable for people who already invest but are new to crypto?
Definitely. If you're comfortable with ISAs or index funds but crypto still feels like a foreign language, you'll fit right in. Several of our members came from traditional investing backgrounds and found that the Book Club helped them bridge the gap between what they already knew and where the financial world is heading.
Why a book club and not just a course?
Courses are brilliant for structured learning — and we have the CryptoGran Academy for exactly that. But a book club does something different: it builds the habit of thinking critically about money and technology, month after month. It's ongoing education that fits into your life, and the social element means you're learning alongside people who genuinely understand where you're coming from.
